The rain is finally stopping in San Francisco, and the sun is going to peak out for about a month until our summer-winter hits for the rest of the year. You want to take full advantage of that by sunbathing on the roof, going out to Baker Beach and riding your bicycle. Oh, and you want to look good while doing it too. Will cycling reduce thighs and buttocks? We know that it will if and only if paired with a good diet. By far the healthiest way to achieve your body weight goals is to eat food that will make your body happy.

will cycling reduce my thighs and buttocks

In this post we will discuss how cycling when paired with nutrition will help you achieve your body weight goals. We will also discuss can cycling will reduce thigh size alone. We will also discuss the difference in weight loss principles from cycling and walking. Finally we will discuss how cycling changes your body shape.

Can cycling reduce thigh size?

Cycling while coupled with good food and nutrition will reduce thigh size, help you easily decrease body weight and achieve your image goals. Cycling without nutrition will simply keep you where you are. It will not hurt you, nor will it help you substantially. If you are eating correctly, we have a fantastic guide on cycling for weight loss.

I had a good friend of mine who was a national Division I NCAA athlete and professional track runner. He has an athletic build and never had acute issues with his weight although from time to time, he would simply not feel happy with how he looked. Throughout his life he was always working out, and training for races, track meets and eventually moved over to cycling which is how we met. Well me and this friend took a month long trip to Brazil. While he was in Brazil, he noticed he ate a lot of hamburgers. When we say a lot, it was still far less than the amount of red meat that an average American will eat daily.

He still noticed the uptick in red meat because it happens to be a pretty easily accessible snack in Brazil. So after the month long trip he didn’t feel great when he returned and decided that he was going to not eat any red meat for a month. He made no significant changes to his exercise routine (which was substantial in comparison to most).

He lost 20 pounds in one month.

This was 20 pounds that he had no clue was through the effect of the food he was eating. Effectively, it was an accident. Cycling will always help keep the body moving; however it will not decrease body fat the same way that a good nutrition is able to. This is a good example of muscle toning.

What is good food and nutrition?

Here are two books that I personally like.

Personally, I don’t understand why this first book gets lackluster reviews. I think it may be because it’s older (1988), and there is a lot of conflicting arguments and research about dieting that have surfaced since then. This book doesn’t speak very much to research. It speaks more to personal and human instinct so I’ve noticed some suggestions seem to go against some scientific studies.

The other book is a bit more heavy on science and speaks to the different types of food that we ought to eat inside of our body. It will help you think about eating healthier in a pretty wholistic way.

Keep in mind that there is no way to target losing only belly fat or losing thigh fat. The book title is a bit misleading, though the contents are useful. You look to decrease your overall body fat content and your thigh body fat will decrease in response. The way I like to think about nutrition is that it truly is a wholistic process – so if you don’t know much about nutrition, these two will get you started, though I do not believe there is a specific diet that will change anyone’s life. Simply eating what is good for the body will help you achieve your goals.

Which is better for your weight loss cycling or walking?

Neither cycling not walking is the answer to your question. Good food and nutrition is best for weight loss. Adding exercise, either cycling or walking will be a major multiplier to the effort.

How long does it take to see results from cycling?

It doesn’t take long if you make a major shift in your food intake. The story above shows a person losing a substantial amount of weight accidentally, that he did not know that he even had stored by changing his food intake in one month.

Will cycling get you in shape?

Cycling will absolutely get you in shape and has an excellent toning effect on the body. There is also a body fat burning and muscle building effect that will make your body look great. You will feel great, and happy to when you see the change that you are able to make.

Conclusion

Will cycling reduce my thighs and buttocks? Nutrition is king when it comes to losing weight. Cycling is an excellent addition to helping you feel good, though if you have weight goals that you would like to achieve, the food that you put into your body is the direct that is well taken.
